Power Control Centre (PCC)
A Power Control Centre (PCC) is a critical element in the electrical distribution system of any establishment. It serves as the central hub for controlling, monitoring, and distributing electrical power to various sections of the facility. The PCC ensures the proper functioning and protection of the electrical network, enabling the safe and reliable supply of electricity to all operational areas.
In its most basic form, the PCC consists of multiple incoming power lines (incomers) and outgoing feeders that carry the power to various electrical loads, such as machinery, lighting, and HVAC systems. The system’s design usually includes a combination of electrical breakers, Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), protection relays, controllers, and a variety of control, indication, and monitoring devices.
